Welcome to Panama Canal Fishing

Panama canal fishingHello, my friends! Thank you for stopping by. we are Rich and Gaby Cahill. owners of Panama Canal Fishing a family-owned fishing charter business for over 15 years. I’m, Richard, a Naturalist Expedition Guide for 30 years taking nature enthusiasts all through Panama and Latin America abord many expedition ships, and my partner Gaby is a Live TV producer and events planner for 20 years. We came together on this life project to offer our outdoor passion for fishing and embarked on this life journey we thoroughly enjoy.

These are advantageous times for Panama as the country has placed tourism as a priority #1. Panama announced the launch of its new tourism brand platform, anchored in the slogan “Live for More”. The brand is a benchmark of Panamanian pride, rooted in the country’s vision of sustainable tourism and inspired by its radiant culture, rich history, and biodiversity. It connects Panama and its tourism offer with the conscious traveler, a traveler profile interested in authentic destinations and in leaving a positive impact where they travel.

This season we have kicked off with a new offer for Deep Sea Fishing in an unmatched fishing location https://youtu.be/Gjw2GCjnUSs  Fishing during the summer months is one of the best things to do. During these times, combining Gatun Lake Fishing with a Deep Sea Adventure for Sailfish, Dorado, and Yellowfin Tuna. The rainy season March through November is good for fishing as this atmospheric change is good for the fish. we see them boiling on the surface as they feed. The water levels rise and allow anglers to explore and cast more coves and navigate over even larger tracks of submerged rainforest which is great for big Peacock Bass, Snook, and Tarpon! https://youtu.be/6AHuCcB22IE

We started Panama Canal Fishing in 2007 with the purpose of creating a fishing charter business dedicated to comfortable, affordable, and good fishing with the best equipment available. That way everyone can enjoy fishing the eighth wonder of the world; from the most experienced anglers to the novice fishermen and families

We offer all-inclusive trips with bilingual fishing guides and our experienced friendly local captains who grew up on the edges of Gatun Lake. I was born and raised in Panama and I’ve been fishing all my life, especially around the lake area, so you can say I’m a living testimony that you can never get enough of fishing in these waters. It’s always exciting and fun. You will lure something in every time you visit.

These days, we are exploring new ways of fishing in the lake and one successful approach is fly fishing. Commonly we do catch Peacock Bass with flies and let me tell you there is nothing more exhilarating than spotting a whole bunch of bass surfacing for the streamer flies and small poppers! Our new quest is to challenge fly-fishermen to catch Tarpon on a fly. Not easy, but a lot of fun. They are hard to catch but you can get them! https://studio.youtube.com/video/IoRtjzfA35E/edit

So I encourage you to experience the best day trip from Panama City! Fishing and wildlife sightseeing, as well as the living the unique experience of seeing ships transiting the Panama Canal. It is a once-in-a-lifetime dream to fish in the Panama Canal and a big one on the bucket list for Peacock Bass, Snook, and Tarpon. We strongly believe in fish conservation and catch and release practices. Our new giveback to our community is our new foundation, Panama Tarpon Conservation! So be sure to visit our page to find more about our conservation efforts of protecting the tarpon and how you can be a part of it. Our website is https://panamatarponconservation.com/
